Thank you for choosing Spot The Difference ("the App"), developed and operated by Difference Games ("we", "us", "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

1. Information We Collect

We do NOT collect any personal data. Specifically, we do not collect:

• Name, email address, phone number, or any personal identification information
• Location data (GPS or network-based)
• Photos, media, or files from your device
• Contact information or social media data
• Browsing history or usage analytics
• Crash reports or diagnostic data sent to our servers

The only device-level identifier we store is your Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push notification token. This token is automatically generated by Firebase and is required to send you push notifications about new daily challenges and game updates. The token is stored on our server solely for the purpose of delivering notifications and is not used to track or identify you.

2. What We Store Locally

The App stores the following data locally on your device only. This data never leaves your phone and is never transmitted to any server:

• Game Progress: Levels completed, stars earned, unlock status
• Daily Challenge Progress: Daily completion status and scores
• Settings: Sound on/off preference, display name (user-set)
• Privacy Acceptance: Timestamp of privacy policy acceptance

All local data is stored using Android's SharedPreferences/DataStore API and is deleted when you uninstall the App.

3. Network Usage

The App uses an internet connection to:

• Download level images and level manifests from our server (differencegames.store)
• Register your FCM device token with our server so we can send push notifications
• Load advertisements via Google AdMob (see Section 4)

No personal data is sent to our servers during these processes. We serve static game content (images and JSON files) and store only your push notification token.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Google AdMob: We display advertisements in the app using Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use data such as your advertising ID and device information to serve personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized ads through your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization). • Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): We use Firebase to send push notifications about daily challenges and game updates. Firebase may process your device token to deliver notifications. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
• No analytics (Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, etc.)
• No social media integration SDKs
• No crash reporting services that transmit data externally
• No payment processing (the App is completely free)

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Our App is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal identification information from anyone, including children under 13. The app uses Google AdMob for advertising; parents can limit ad personalization through device settings. Our App is designed to be COPPA-compliant.

6. Data Deletion

The only data we store on our server is your FCM push notification token. To request deletion of your token from our servers, please contact us at support@differencegames.store with the subject line "Delete My Data" and include your device model and approximate install date. To delete all locally stored game data, simply uninstall the App from your device.

7. Data Security

All server communication is encrypted via HTTPS. Local data is protected by Android's standard app sandbox security model. FCM tokens stored on our server are not linked to any personal identity and are used exclusively for notification delivery.

8. Permissions Used

The App requests the following Android permissions:

• INTERNET: Required to download level images and manifests from our game server and to load advertisements. Used exclusively for fetching game content and ads over HTTPS.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+): Required to send push notifications about new daily challenges and game updates. Only requested with your explicit consent. You can revoke this permission at any time in device Settings → Apps → Spot The Difference → Notifications.
• SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM (Android 12+): Required to schedule daily challenge reminder notifications via AlarmManager.
• AD_ID: Declared for Google AdMob to serve advertisements. You can opt out of ad personalization in device settings.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
